Start here: a friendly first step, whoever you are

I am new to all this. Where do I start?

Start here. If you are curious, begin with the gospel page to hear the core message, then read a short Gospel like Mark. If you have honest doubts, begin with the evidence and why-believe pages. If you have just trusted Jesus, start with discipleship and reading the Bible. There is a clear next step for wherever you are.

Whoever you are, you are welcome here

People arrive at a site like this from very different places. Some are seriously seeking, wondering if any of it is true. Some are skeptical and just curious what Christians actually claim. Some have known the basics for years but never quite understood the heart of the message. And some have just made the most important decision of their lives and do not know what to do next. Whoever you are, you are welcome, and there is no need to pretend to be further along than you are. The aim of this site is to explain the Christian message plainly and to point you to the next sensible step.

There is no pressure here and nothing to buy. Everything is free to read, and you can move at your own pace. The most important thing is not to agree with everything immediately but to keep honestly engaging with the central question, which is who Jesus is. Almost everything else follows from that. So take your time, follow the links that fit where you are, and do not hesitate to bring your questions; honest questions are welcome, not a problem.

A simple path for wherever you are

If you want to understand the core message first, start with the gospel of the Kingdom page, which explains in plain words who Jesus is, what it means to be saved, and how to come to Him. Then read a Gospel for yourself; Mark is short and direct, and John is rich and personal. Reading the actual words and works of Jesus is worth more than any amount of explanation about Him.

If your sticking point is whether any of this is true, begin instead with the evidence for the faith page and the why-believe page, which take honest doubts seriously and lay out the reasons people find Christianity credible, including the evidence for the resurrection. And if you have already trusted Jesus, even today, the best next steps are the saved-and-disciple page, which explains what following Him looks like, and the reading-the-Bible page, which helps you start in the Scriptures. Pick the door that fits, and walk through it.

If you want to respond to God right now

Maybe, reading this, you sense that you want to turn to God and trust Jesus today. You do not need a church building, a religious expert, or perfect words. You can come to God right where you are. In your own honest words, you can tell Him something like this: God, I have sinned and gone my own way. I cannot save myself. I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again, and I trust Him. I turn from my old way, and I want to follow You as my King. Please forgive me and make me Yours.

If you sincerely prayed something like that, the Bible's promise is that God receives everyone who comes to Him through Jesus; He does not turn away anyone who truly comes. This is a beginning, not an ending. Tell another Christian if you can, find a Bible and start reading a Gospel, look for a healthy local church, and use the contact page here if you would like someone to talk and pray with you. Welcome to the family; the King has been waiting for you.

"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." John 6:37

Questions

Frequently asked questions

I'm completely new to Christianity. Where do I begin?
Begin with the gospel of the Kingdom page to hear the core message in plain words, then read the Gospel of Mark or John to meet Jesus directly. There is no need to understand everything at once or to pretend to be further along than you are. Follow the links that fit where you are, take your time, and bring your honest questions; they are welcome here.
I have a lot of doubts. Is this site for me?
Yes. Doubt is welcome, not a problem, and honest questions are taken seriously here. If your sticking point is whether Christianity is true, start with the evidence for the faith page and the why-believe page, which lay out the reasons people find it credible, including the evidence for the resurrection. You do not have to silence your questions to engage; bring them along.
I just decided to trust Jesus. What do I do now?
Welcome to the family. Tell another Christian if you can, find a Bible and start reading a Gospel like Mark, and look for a healthy local church to join. The saved-and-disciple page explains what following Jesus looks like, and the reading-the-Bible page helps you get started in the Scriptures. You can also use the contact page if you would like someone to talk and pray with you.
Do I have to believe everything right away?
No. The most important thing is to keep honestly engaging with the central question of who Jesus is; almost everything else follows from that. You can move at your own pace, read freely, and weigh the evidence. Faith is trust in a person you have good reason to rely on, and it often grows step by step as you look honestly at Jesus rather than all at once.
How can I become a Christian?
Turn from going your own way and trust Jesus, who died for your sins and rose again, receiving Him as Savior and Lord. You can do this right now in your own honest words, wherever you are; there are no magic words and you do not need an expert present. The Bible promises that God receives everyone who truly comes to Him through Jesus, and never turns them away.
Is there anything to buy or sign up for?
No. Everything here is free to read, there is no charge for anything, and there never will be. There is no account to create and nothing to purchase. If you want to reach out with a question, share your story, or ask for prayer, the contact page is there for that, but it is entirely optional. The aim is simply to explain the message and point you to your next step.

Kingdom Gospel is an independent Christian teaching ministry.
